VinUni College of Health Sciences to cooperate with Yonsei University College of Nursing

The College of Health Sciences, VinUniversity recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the College of Nursing, Yonsei University, opening up opportunities for joint research and academic exchange between students and lecturers of the two colleges. Previously, VinUniversity also signed a MOU with the Yonsei University School of Business. The two institutions agreed to collaborate bilaterally on the exchange of students, faculty, and administrative staff, joint research and teaching activities, and exchange of field trips, study tours, and academic materials.
Yonsei University is part of SKY – a group made up of Korea’s 3 most prestigious universities. According to the QS World University Rankings (2021), Yonsei is ranked 79th worldwide. The College of Nursing, Yonsei University is Korea’s oldest nursing school with more than 100 years of history. With the motto “Lead the health world globally through exceptional and innovative education and research”, the College of Nursing, Yonsei University places an emphasis on teaching students management thinking and leadership skills. These also lie at the core of VinUni’s educational philosophy. In addition to specialized knowledge and skills, nursing students are continuously trained in management thinking and innovative leadership skills to prepare for managerial roles in nursing in particular, and healthcare in general.
Discussing this collaboration with Yonsei University College of Nursing, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Director of the Bachelor of Nursing Program, VinUniversity, shared that cultural similarities help facilitate activities between the two colleges, such as student exchange, lecturer exchange, and collaborative research on multicultural healthcare services. The recently-signed MOU is an important foundation for VinUni College of Health Sciences and Yonsei University College of Nursing to implement specific activities in the near future.
This is a wonderful opportunity for VinUni students to experience studying, researching, and working in South Korea – a country with a developed nursing industry. This cooperation agreement also opens up opportunities to participate in joint research projects and contribute to the development of healthcare. At the moment, the VinUni – Yonsei research team is working on a project titled “The influence of media on adolescents’ tobacco use”, with target groups in both South Korea and Vietnam.
