OFFICIAL OPENING OF APPLICATIONS FOR THE VINUNIVERSITY RESIDENCY PROGRAMS – COHORT 7

VinUniversity is pleased to officially announce the opening of applications for Cohort 7 of Residency Programs. This program represents a transformative journey to develop globally competent physicians, where rigorous clinical training is integrated with advanced research capability and leadership development in medicine.
WHAT DISTINGUISHES THE VINUNIVERSITY RESIDENCY PROGRAMS?
- Rigorous International Accreditation Standards (ACGME-I)
VinUniversity is the first medical education institution in Vietnam to achieve institutional accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education – International (ACGME-I). Four residency specialties, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, General Surgery, and Orthopedic Surgery, have been fully accredited under ACGME-International standards.
- Advancement in Research Excellence and Global Integration
At VinUniversity, residents are trained not only as highly skilled clinicians but also as physician-scientists. Between 2020 and 2025, VinUniversity residents published 77 international peer-reviewed publications, including 18 articles in Q1-ranked journals. Residents are actively supported and encouraged to participate in international scientific conferences, with over 71 conferences attended and 22 prestigious academic awards received, fostering global academic engagement and professional networking.
- Professional Healthcare Workforce Model
Residents are recognized as integral members of the healthcare workforce, actively participating in patient care under supervision within the Vinmec Healthcare System and VinUni’s strategic partner national referral hospitals. The program is structured around six ACGME-I core competencies, encompassing medical knowledge, patient care, professionalism, systems-based practice, practice-based learning and improvement, and interpersonal and communication skills.
- Unlimited Career Advancement Opportunities
Graduates of the VinUniversity Residency Programs are well-positioned to pursue ACGME-I-accredited fellowship programs or advance to doctoral training (PhD) at leading international institutions. Graduates may also pursue careers within the Vinmec Healthcare System or serve as Clinical Faculty at VinUniversity and Vinmec hospitals.
- Comprehensive Talent Investment and Financial Support
Full tuition sponsorship: The program is fully funded, with 80% of the cost sponsored by VinUniversity and 20% sponsored by Vinmec Healthcare System. Monthly stipend: Residents receive a competitive monthly stipend from Vinmec Healthcare System, commensurate with their clinical responsibilities and professional role.
