VAIPE project honoured as typical Science and Technology project of VinIF Fund for 5 years
The VAIPE project, led by VinUniversity and sponsored by the Vingroup Innovation Fund (VinIF), has been selected by the Fund as a prime science and technology project among hundreds of similar projects sponsored by the Fund over the past 5 years. This recognition is significant, as it affirms VinUni’s team and scientific partner network’s ability to effectively operate research projects.
The VINIF Fund was established in 2018 to support young scientists from universities and institutes conducting scientific and technological research and innovation. The Fund has sponsored over 110 projects, with a total funding of nearly 800 billion VND. The selection criteria for funding typical science and technology projects of the VinIF Foundation are based on high-quality scientific publications, software solutions, databases, research products with commercial potential, and other awards achieved by the project.
Only 5 science and technology projects out of more than 110 projects sponsored by the VinIF Fund in the past 5 years have been selected as typical projects to introduce on the 5th anniversary of the Foundation’s operation. On July 26, the research results of the VAIPE project were presented by Professor Minh Do, Dr. Pham Huy Hieu, and colleagues at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung and Dr. Nguyen Phi Le in the seminar on the Foundation’s 5 years of operation, which gathered about 350 leading scientists in Vietnam.
The VAIPE project is one of the projects sponsored by the VinIF Fund in 2022. This mobile solution is developed by the research team at the Center for Smart Health, VinUni-Illinois (VISHC), VinUniversity, and associates at the School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. It integrates advanced technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and data analysis, is easy to use, and is accessible to the majority of users to improve public health.
The solution provides a mobile platform that allows individuals to collect, manage, and analyze health data, including medication habits, heart rate, blood pressure, height and weight readings, and other important health indicators such as ECG signals. The data is analyzed to provide patients with recommendations on the safe use of drugs, warning of wrong medication, over-the-counter drugs, and early diagnosis of diseases.
Dr. Pham Huy Hieu, the project’s representative, said, “We are honored that VinIF has selected the project as a prime project among more than 100 projects that the Fund has sponsored. This result confirms the ability to effectively operate and exploit the research resources of VinUni’s team of scientists and domestic and foreign research partners. Being highly appreciated by the Fund also confirms the importance and influence of the VAIPE project. This special honor also adds to the motivation to bring the project to new goals in the future”.
