ToT Course on Communication Skills For Vinmec at VinUniversity Medical Simulation Center
The VinUniversity Medical Simulation Center is not only the perfect practice environment for students. Still, it has also become the reputable training institution Vinmec International General chose for its internal instructors’ training.
From August 26-27, 2022, the Medical Simulation Center successfully organized a training course for instructors on communication skills, targeted at Vinmec’s doctors from Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Ho Chi Minh City. In this course, prospective instructors were introduced to simulation training and taught the necessary skills for a training session on communication skills. Notably, future instructors were allowed to work with standardized patients, lead mock training sessions, and receive direct feedback from the Center’s training experts.
At the end of the course, learners gave positive feedback to the Center. Doctor Tran Van Cong – Vinmec Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine said: “The course’s faculty and model patients were enthusiastic, dedicated, responsible, and professional. Most notable was Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long – the course’s main lecturer – whose professional approach created a cohesive, fair, and respectful learning environment, blurring the boundaries between lecturers and students.”
Since 2017, the VinUniversity Medical Simulation Center has organized various simulation training courses, such as First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Among those, the “Communication skill in a medical encounter”, which provides practice in simulated situations with standardized patients, has been attracting much attention from hospital managers and medical staff. Nearly 5,000 doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers have come to VinUniversity to experience simulated real-life situations, to practice and improve their communication skills
With its experience in simulation training, the Center stands ready to cater to the needs and desires to improve the medical staffs’ practical and teaching capacity across the country.
