THE OPPORTUNITY

The Student Exchange Officer is an integral member of the Academic Engagement and Student Exchange Department of VinUniversity. The post holder will proactively support the work of the Department by promoting and implementing the University’s various student international mobility programs; as well as coordinating schemes to internationalize the student experience. In addition, the post holder will provide assistance regarding the University’s Transnational Education partnerships, including the management of existing international partnerships and the establishment of new international partnerships.

The post holder reports to the Academic Engagement Manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implement the Global Student Exchange Programs:

  • Liaise closely and effectively with colleges and departments across VinUniversity and with partner institutions worldwide to: (1) Implement the organization and delivery of global student mobility activities; (2) Act as the main point of contact for mobility programs; (3) Support the student exchange application and selection process of outbound and inbound students.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to students, applicants, partner institutions and external stakeholders from. first contact onwards. Support includes but is not limited to providing information related to student inbound and outbound exchange activities, student exchange nomination and placement etc.
  • Develop, maintain and update contents for Global Exchange on VinUniversity’s website and social media networks, along with information packs/documents for students, staff members and partners.
  • Conduct the exchange grant application and selection process and manage the grant disbursement.
  • Conduct research, identify, and actively promote various sources of potential student exchange programs, such as summer, short-term, and self-funded programs to enhance opportunities for students to gain international experience.
  • Provide the Academic Engagement Manager and the Head of Academic Engagement & Student Exchange with regular performance reports on inbound and outbound exchange activities.

2. Support Academic Engagement activities

  • Arrange meetings from partner institutions to VinUni.
  • Develop and keep track of contact database related to student exchange programs and academic engagement activities.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. Experience studying abroad is an advantage but not required.
  • A minimum of three (03) years of work experience in an international office environment or a higher education setting in a role delivering a wide range of customer service.
  • Previous experience with international academic exchange is a plus.

2. Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Knowledge of higher education systems in other countries is an advantage.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills – MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Good time management skills, resilience, ability to multi-task effectively and work under pressure.
  • Excellent administrative and project coordination skills, with the ability to meet agreed standards, attention to detail and timeframes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both in English and Vietnamese.
