THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an External Engagement Specialist, who will initiate, implement, and continuously develop external engagement programs with industry/academic and domestic/international partners for College of Business and Management at VinUniversity.

The incumbent will work closely with Dean/Vice Dean/Program Directors of the College and the External Engagement Office at the University level to manage a diverse array of external engagement programs such as industry speaker series, company visits, mentorship, in-semester internship, and summer internship with industry partners; and diverse collaboration programs such as student/faculty exchange programs with international academic partners.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinate and manage activities for inbound/outbound students to VinUniversity.
  • Support in the process of development of new programs/ initiatives (such as inbound exchange programs, UG/PGT degree, Executive education programs…).
  • Support in all external enga.gement activities (e.g., Advisory Board, Industrial Chairs, Faculty in Practice, Guest Speaker).
  • Support open lectures, joint conferences, international conferences hosted by CAS (e.g., APPSA Conference…).
  • Support faculty in charge in Leadership Framework & its relevant tasks including Leadership Boot camp.
  • Manage the College’s communication channels (e.g., website, design posters, writing posts…).
  • Support Dean with all external engagement related tasks including exploring and establishing partnership/connection with distinguished guests/ partners in relevant areas both domestically and internationally.
  • Organize quarterly townhall with students and monthly student meeting with the Dean.
  • Research and develop internship opportunities for the College students.
  • Gathers, enters, and/or updates data to maintain department records and databases, establishes and maintains files and records for the department.
  • Other tasks assigned by the Dean.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in an academic and/or external engagement job setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with multiple and conflicting interests.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (presentation, documentation & writing correspondences).
  • Logical and creative thinking skills with flexible and innovative mindset.
  • Ability to create, build, and further develop relationships with people and organizations.
  • Responsiveness in communication and dedication to task completion on time.
  • Genuine interest in, care for and willingness to support students.
  • Ability to own the tasks and work independently as well as collaboratively on a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, understands and follows policies and procedures, and accommodates change.
  • Ability to make good judgment, pay rigorous attention to detail handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion.

ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

English is the language of teaching and communication at VinUniversity. For this role, the candidate need to have an excellent written and verbal communication skill in English. The minimum requirement is IELTS (Academic) with a score of at least 7.0 (or equivalent).
