Cornell – VinUni Knowledge Hub – spreading the spirit of lifelong learning

April 26, 2023

To promote a spirit of lifelong learning, the Cornell-VinUniversity Project team has just announced the launch of the Cornell-VinUni Knowledge Hub – a digital knowledge repository exclusively for VinUni members.

The Cornell-VinUni Knowledge Hub – developed as a Canvas course – is designed to create opportunities for everyone to continuously improve their knowledge through access to Cornell University’s rich resources throughout five years of VinUni-Cornell cooperation.

This valuable digital knowledge repository covers many topics, including Admissions, Teaching Support, Program Design Support, Student Affairs, Registrar & Planning, Marketing, Finance, etc. The courses are divided according to academic-academic support – operations to help learners gain an overview of university management. Learners can choose modules according to their expertise and explore other fields they have not yet been exposed to. After the end of each course, there will be a group discussion feature for learners to exchange knowledge, share views, and contribute ideas.

According to Ms. Nguyen Hong Ha – Head of Planning & Registrar at VinUni, representative of the project, this peer-to-peer coaching model has been deployed since 2017, in conjunction with tutoring support and experience sharing from Cornell’s faculty, helping VinUni with its best practices since day one.

By opening up this rich resource, VinUni wishes to acknowledge the generous investment of Vingroup, the fantastic support of VinUni leaders, and the invaluable contributions of more than 250 lecturers and staff at Cornell University – who has been involved in the development of VinUni since its inception in 2017.

More than 250 professors, academic leaders, and operations leaders from Cornell University have gathered, built, and refined over five years of collaboration

The team has assisted VinUni in infrastructure, administration, faculty recruitment, and curriculum development, among other things. These valuable resources have been developed, modified and collected to transfer knowledge to the VinUni community. The process from synthesising, planning, testing, beta, and stakeholders’ survey to Hub’s completion was conducted within four months.

“By allowing all VinUni members to access this Hub, we hope everyone can benefit. We encourage you to take advantage of this platform and use it as a tool to enhance the capabilities of your units and your personal and professional growth, thereby spreading the spirit of lifelong learning among the VinUni community,” – Ms. Hong Ha said.

According to Ms. Ha, the project team will continuously update new topics and knowledge to improve the Hub’s content, aiming to provide a better user experience. Additionally, interactive activities and assessment quizzes will be added to each module. In the long run, the project will issue internal e-Certificates from Cornell and VinUni, according to each module learned.

The Cornell – VinUni Knowledge Hub project marks the end of VinUni’s first 5-year strategic cooperation with Cornell and opens up a new phase of collaboration. VinUni’s strategic partnership with Cornell increasingly affirms its steady progress in building internationally-recognized curriculums by integrating excellent models from the world’s best higher education institution, thereby creating a breakthrough in Vietnam’s higher education quality.
