How to Apply?

VinUniversity’s Ph.D. program in Computer Science aims to train experts and researchers with high levels of expertise, practical and theoretical knowledge and advanced theory in cutting-edge technological fields, who have independent research capabilities, and the ability to establish research collaborations at national and international levels.

Our admissions process is designed to select the best distinctive talents
that have 4 things in common, defined as AACC:

General requirements for applicants:

1. Hold a bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree classified as Excellent or higher in a Computer Science or related fields;
2. Have research experience demonstrated through a master’s thesis of a research-oriented training program; or published scientific articles or reports; or have worked for 2 years (24 months) or more as a lecturer or researcher at training establishments and science technology organizations;
3. Have a draft research outline and expected study and research plan for the entire course;
4. Meet the requirements for research proposal, scientific research experience, letter of recommendation.

Vietnamese applicants must meet foreign language requirements as evidenced by any of the following degrees and certificates:

1. An IELTS score of 6.5 or higher, or equivalent certificates recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), valid at the time of application; OR graduation from master’s and/or university degrees in programs taught in English.
2. For candidates who do not satisfy English requirement above, candidates need to:
   – At the time of admissions: candidates need to hold an IELTS score of at least 5.5, or other equivalent certificates recognized by Ministry of Education and Training, corresponding to Level 4 or above under the Vietnamese 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework, valid at the time of application.
   – Within 12 months from the start date of Ph.D. program: candidates need to submit a valid IELTS 6.5 or higher (or an equivalent certificate recognized by MOET).

Step 3: Qualified candidates will be invited to a Technical Interview round with VinUni Professors.

Step 4: Admission decisions will be made by the Admissions Committee, and the Program Director will notify the candidates about the final results.
