VinUni Students win Entrepreneurship Competition – Top 3 Overall – Kawai 2023 Startup Competition with a total prize value of 475 million VND

This July, Nguyen Tuan Hiep, Nguyen Lam Phuong, and Le Vu Quang Huy, students from VinUni’s College of Engineering & Computer Science and College of Business & Management, emerged as three of the four members of the “NaviAI” team, who won the prestigious championship in the Kawai Entrepreneurship Competition as the 2nd runner-up. This competition is one of the largest youth entrepreneurship business idea contests in Vietnam. And, “NaviAI” surpassed hundreds of projects from competitors to achieve this esteemed position.

“NaviAI” is an AI-powered virtual assistant that supports content creation and presentation skills. Explaining the reason behind founding the startup at such a young age, the team members stated, “We are living in the age of technology with the explosion of Generative AI and automation tools, making human life easier with ChatGPT, Siri, or Alexa. Understanding the market demand, the NaviAI team brings an AI virtual assistant to support content creation and presentation, saving users time and effort, making content creation and presentation more convenient than ever. As young individuals, we are ready to challenge ourselves and venture into new fields, being pioneers in the Vietnamese market, as we believe that we are not inferior to international peers if given the opportunity to step out of our comfort zone.”

Top 3 Overrall – Kawai 2023 Startup Competition honored VinUni’s students

Kawai Startup Competition marked the first participation for NaviAI, as the startup was only established in March 2023. Surpassing hundreds of projects, NaviAI excelled and claimed the prestigious third place, receiving a total prize value of 457 million VND, which includes cash rewards and other valuable prizes. To achieve this success, the unwavering support from VinUniversity played a crucial role, where students are encouraged and prepared to embark on entrepreneurial journeys right from their academic years. With a focus on startups that integrate technology into real-life applications, NaviAI received advice and financial support from VinUni, enabling them to not only implement their startup ideas but also conduct core technology research through two programs, namely EntrePrep and Opportunities for Undergraduate Research.
