Credit Transfer Admission Process

Applications for credit transfer to VinUniversity are evaluated through a holistic admissions process. While no specific factor guarantees admission, transfer applicants will have a competitive advantage if they demonstrate excellence in academic areas.

Although academic performance is the primary focus of the admission process, other factors are also considered as part of the holistic review. Below are examples of the qualities and characteristics we assess during this process:

Academic Performance: We review the applicant’s complete academic record, including the number of credits completed, general education courses, and courses related to the applicant’s intended major.

Personal Qualities: We consider the applicant’s personal attributes, including leadership potential, integrity, motivation, insight, perseverance, creativity, intellectual independence, responsibility, maturity, and their commitment to the community and those around them.

These qualities may be demonstrated in various ways, not only through involvement in traditional clubs or organizations but also through family life, work experience, or other life experiences.

Contributions to the Intellectual and Cultural Development of the University: We evaluate the applicant’s potential to contribute to the intellectual and cultural growth of the academic community. In addition to a broad range of intellectual interests and achievements, the admissions committee looks for diversity in the applicant’s personal background and life experiences.

Contextual Factors: All achievements, both academic and non-academic, are assessed in the context of the opportunities available to the applicant. The admissions committee considers how well the applicant has leveraged those opportunities. For applicants facing significant challenges or unique circumstances, the committee will assess the applicant’s maturity, determination, and insight in how they have addressed and overcome those challenges.

Credit Transfer:
Applicants will be considered for credit transfer only after being admitted to VinUniversity. The relevant academic department and program office will then conduct the credit evaluation process. Applicants will be required to provide detailed course syllabi and content from their previous institution. Credits will be transferred and recognized if the course content aligns with the curricula offered at VinUniversity.
