Early Faculty Development Program

VinUniversity, with the support from Cornell University, officially launched the Early Faculty Development (EFD) Program – an intensive professional development initiative that aims to elevate selected faculties’ academic credentials.

The EFD Program gives priority to nurturing faculty who are in the areas of Business & Management (Entrepreneurship/ Human Resources/ Organisational Behaviour/ Economics/ Hospitality…), Engineering & Computer Science (Computer Science/ Electrical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering…), Health Sciences that have the potential to create meaningful contributions to the development of higher education in Vietnam.

The EFP program concept and framework is jointly developed by VinUniversity and Cornell University. Selected faculties will spend four semesters in Ithaca, New York as visiting fellows and receive mentorship from Cornell’s leading experts to build and enhance teaching and research capabilities as well as know-how in the areas of interests specified in their Individual Development Plan (IDP). Upon completion of the program, faculties will be validated for further development by Cornell mentors and VinUni senior faculties.

The goal of the VinUni Early Faculty Development (EFD) Program is to support talented faculty in developing their academic capacities for promotion from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor. Therefore, participants will be evaluated by VinUni Search Committee to meet required criteria and will enjoy valuable opportunities in the process of building their teaching and research portfolio.

VinUni is constantly looking for candidates who are fresh doctoral or postdoctoral graduates in related fields from well-established universities to join this program. The faculty should have strong academic credentials and commitment to the development of higher education in Vietnam.
