Compulsory Non-Academic Fees
1. Application Processing Fee
The application processing fee is the cost for processing and screening the applicant’s documents when submitting an application to the University.
Fee: VND 2,000,000 per applicant per submission.
✓ Applicable to applicants who reach the interview stage.
This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE under any circumstances.
2. Scholarship/Financial Aid Retention Fee
The scholarship/financial aid retention fee is the fee to secure a scholarship and/or financial aid awarded to the applicant upon acceptance in accordance with the Admission Regulations.
Fee: VND 20,000,000 per applicant.
Applicants must pay the fee within 5 days from the date of notification from the University, or according to the specific deadline indicated in the notification.
This fee will be deducted from the tuition and other fees for the first semester of the first academic year.
This fee is NON-REFUNDABLE under any circumstances.

3. The other fees
3.1 Late Fees for Borrowed Materials or Equipment
The late fee for borrowed materials or equipment is charged for overdue items, calculated from the due date or the recall date until the actual return or the date the student reports the item as lost (including weekends and holidays).
Fee Structure:
✓ For regular materials: VND 20,000 per day per item.
✓ For course-specific materials: VND 20,000 per hour per item.
✓ For equipment: VND 20,000 per day per item.
Students who have not paid overdue fees will not be allowed to borrow library materials or equipment.
If materials are returned more than 30 days late, in addition to the overdue fees, students will also be charged a penalty equivalent to the cover price of the borrowed item.
Fees are collected at the time of occurrence.
3.2 Repair Fees for Minor Damage to Borrowed Materials or Equipment
The repair fee for minor damage is a compensation fee for slight damage to borrowed materials or equipment as per the Library’s regulations.
Fee: VND 200,000 per item/equipment.
In addition to the damage fee, students may also need to pay late fees if applicable.
Students who have not paid the repair fees will not be allowed to borrow further materials or equipment from the library.
Fees are collected at the time of occurrence.
3.3 Replacement Fees for Lost or Seriously Damaged Materials/Equipment
The replacement fee for lost or severely damaged materials or equipment is a compensation fee for the loss or serious damage as per the Library’s regulations.
Fee Structure:
✓ For materials available in the market (domestic or international): The fee is the cost of a new copy of the item plus a VND 200,000 administrative fee per item.
✓ For materials unavailable in the market (domestic or international): The fee is five times the original cost of the material.
✓ For equipment: The fee is the cost of a new or equivalent item, plus a VND 200,000 administrative fee per item.
In addition to the replacement fee, students may also need to pay late fees if applicable.
If a student finds the lost item after paying the replacement fee, this fee is NON-REFUNDABLE, but the student will retain the found item.
Fees are collected within 30 working days from the report of loss or significant damage.
Academic Processing Fees
3.5 Student ID Replacement Fee
Each student is issued a free Student ID card upon first enrollment. If the card is lost or damaged, a replacement fee will apply.
Fee: VND 200,000 per card.
Fees are collected at the time the need arises.
3.6 Document Certification Fee
The document certification fee covers the administrative costs for verifying and stamping official documents (e.g., transcript requests, student verification, issuing copies, etc.).
Fee: VND 50,000 per document
Fees are collected at the time of application.
3.7 Dormitory Fees
The dormitory fee covers accommodation, necessary equipment, internet, common area cleaning, technical support, parking (1 vehicle per student), and utilities (120 kWh of electricity, 4m³ of water per month). Students who exceed the quota will be charged additional fees based on the University’s pricing within one week from receiving the fee notice. Students may also opt for additional paid services such as cleaning, laundry, and meals.
Any damages caused by the student will be charged separately.
Fee rates:
✓ 8-student room: VND 3,200,000 per month per student.
✓ 2-student room: VND 4,000,000 per month per student.
The daily rate is calculated based on a standard month of 30 days.
Each student must pay a deposit equivalent to one month’s dormitory fee along with the first semester’s fee.
Payment deadlines:
✓ For short-term students: Payment is due 1 week before the first day of check-in.
✓ For regular students: Payment is due twice a year, along with tuition fees for the respective semester.
Refund Conditions:
✓ Dormitory fees may be refunded for unused periods due to circumstances beyond the University’s control.
✓ Refunds are not available for withdrawals due to the student’s own reasons, including disciplinary actions.
✓ Dormitory deposit refunds:
o Refunds are available if the student leaves the dormitory due to reasons beyond the University’s control, after deducting any fees owed to the University.
o Refunds are not available if the student leaves the dormitory for personal reasons or due to disciplinary action.
If a student is eligible for a refund for dormitory fees or deposit, the University will prioritize applying the refund to the student’s tuition fees for the following semester.
Mandatory Health Insurance Fee (Collection on Behalf of Insurance Provider)
The health insurance fee for Vietnamese students is a mandatory surcharge according to the national health insurance framework for university students in Vietnam. The University collects the fee and remits it to the local Social Insurance Office. Health insurance coverage remains active even if the student temporarily suspends their studies for exchange programs or other personal reasons.
The health insurance fee for international students is also a mandatory surcharge. The University will purchase an appropriate insurance plan for the student for the duration of their studies at the University.
Health insurance fees are paid once a year, together with the tuition fees for the first semester of the academic year. This fee is remitted on behalf of the students to the insurance provider, with no additional charges.
VinUniversity has partnered with PVI Insurance to provide the health insurance plan for international students. If an international student chooses to purchase their own insurance, they must submit proof of their own coverage to the Student Affairs Office via email at studentaffairs@vinuni.edu.vn before the University’s fee collection notice.
Students who are children of military personnel or who already have valid health insurance coverage are exempt from this fee. A copy of the health insurance card must be submitted to the University.
General Health Check Fee (Collection on Behalf of Provider)
The general health check is mandatory for all students at the time of enrollment and annually thereafter, as required by the Ministry of Health. The health check will be conducted by Vinmec Hospital.
The fee for the health check is paid once a year along with tuition fees, as specified in the University’s fee notice. This is a fee the University collects on behalf of the students and the hospital, with no additional charges.
